The Seven Mile Creek Watershed Partnership offers a free field day event for area farmers and others interested in state-of-the-art methods for managing drainage depth in response to rainfall and crop needs, increasing fertilizer efficiency and field-edge practices for removing nitrate from tile water.

Project overviews will be followed by site tours and discussion at the Sept. 11 event. Attendees will visit a woodchip bioreactor in the process of being installed, see a tabletop demonstration of a water control structure in action, get a first-hand look at controlled drainage in a field setting, and hear from local farmers and contractors involved in the projects.
